Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival 2024 (KIMFF 2024) - 21st Edition

Description

Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival 2024 (KIMFF 2024) - 21st Edition invites filmmakers to submit their works created in the last two years. Join us from May 29 to June 2, 2024, in Kathmandu, the cultural heart of the Himalayan region and recognized as a Creative City of Film by the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. Since its inception in 2000, KIMFF has been a platform for showcasing a diverse array of films from around the world, with a special focus on mountain communities and cultures.

Over the years, KIMFF has screened hundreds of films and facilitated discussions addressing various issues, including the political resilience of mountain communities, the rise of identity politics in adventure sports, and the impacts of climate change on highland regions. The festival now features documentaries, feature films, adventure cinema, experimental shorts, anthropological narratives, and animation from the Himalayan region and beyond.

Organized by the KIMFF Foundation, a private, not-for-profit sharing company dedicated to cultivating an informed, dynamic, and resilient Nepali society, KIMFF aims to foster a culture of creativity and original storytelling. We invite filmmakers to submit their films to be part of this cultural celebration and contribute to bridging cultures and societies through the power of storytelling.

Submit your films for KIMFF 2024 and be part of this enriching cinematic experience!
